So you’re Engaged! Now what?
The moment you’ve been waiting for has finally come. You’re ENGAGED…but now what? You’ve anticipated this moment for so long and now that it’s finally here you’re completely lost. Don’t fret, here are some tips on where to start when you haven’t thought passed saying “yes.”
- Pinterest: I know it seems cliche, but Pinterest has loads of “To-do” lists for everyone from the newly engaged couple to the last minute planners. Pinterest boards can also be a great way to organize your wedding vision, so I’d definitely recommend starting here.
- Guest List: Talk with your fiancé about your guest list and the potential size of your wedding. The number of guests you plan on having becomes a huge factor in a lot of other wedding decisions along the way, such as your venue and food costs, so it’s best to think about this in the early stages of planning.
- Setting a Budget: Figure out how much you will each be putting into the wedding as well as get a rough estimate of what other people (i.e. The bank of Mom and Dad) are wiling to contribute as well. After you have a budget, both you and your fiancé should pick your top three most important wedding elements that you want to allocate money to (would you rather a better venue or better DJ? for instance). Doing this will help you prioritize the things that will really make or break the day for you.
- Divide and Conquer: Once you have chosen which areas of the wedding you want to prioritize, from here you can proportionality divide the remainder of the budget up for the rest of the wedding necessities.
