Pantone Colour 2017 is…Greenery!
After last year’s shocking announcement that the Pantone Colour of the Year was actually going to be two colours, people have been anxious to see what would be chosen for 2017. You see, though many know Pantone as setting the colour trend for fashion and home decor, by default it sets the tone for what the Wedding Colour of the Year will be as well. So when it was announced that the 2017 colour would be Greenery, many people were not only relieved that it was just one colour, but were also excited about a colour that can be applied well in a variety of ways.
For weddings in particular it is more than merely just a colour—it’s a colour that can be expanded into a theme with depth to it! Whether your Greenery means encompassing your love and passion for nature into wedding or is more symbolic of the fresh new life you’ll be starting with your other half, there are so many ways to make this colour your own.
I find that on another level, this colour also is encouraging the rejuvenation of love and commitment in a time of uncertainty. I’d even go as far to say that it’s the ideal colour/theme for vow renewals. As noted by the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Eiseman, this year’s chosen colour promotes “…our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize…[symbolizing] the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.”
I look forward to seeing how this refreshing colour will be applied throughout 2017 and will definitely be posting my Greenery favourites on the blog, so make sure to stay tuned!
